📋 Description

• Lead the end-to-end delivery of a cloud operations transformation programme for a large public sector customer • Assess current-state IT and cloud operations practices and define a practical target operating model aligned to industry best practice, ITIL principles and recognised cloud adoption frameworks • Design operational processes across backup and recovery, patching, vulnerability management, security posture management, monitoring and observability, incident and change management, configuration management, licence management, service reporting and FinOps • Produce customer-facing policies, standards, procedures, operating manuals, governance artefacts, process flows, RACI models, operational control matrices and technical environment diagrams • Apply practical cloud operations knowledge across Azure and AWS environments • Manage senior customer stakeholders and provide structured engagement and progress visibility • Chair weekly programme status meetings, present progress updates, manage risks and issues, and track decisions and actions through completion • Lead a small blended PFH and customer delivery team, assigning work and coordinating inputs • Own selected deliverables requiring senior consulting input, process design expertise or high-quality written output • Support the customer in embedding operational governance, control assurance and continuous improvement practices

🎯 Requirements

• Significant experience leading IT operations, cloud operations or service management transformation initiatives in complex enterprise or public sector environments • Strong understanding of IT operations management, risk control frameworks, governance, service management and operational assurance • Practical experience designing and improving operating processes for cloud or hybrid IT environments, preferably across Microsoft Azure and/or Amazon Web Services • Demonstrable ability to translate best-practice frameworks into pragmatic policies, standards, procedures and day-to-day operating processes • Excellent programme and project management capability, including planning, dependency management, RAID management, stakeholder reporting and delivery governance • Strong customer-facing consulting skills, with the ability to work confidently with senior stakeholders, technical teams, service owners and operational support teams • Exceptional written communication skills, with proven ability to produce polished, structured and professional client-facing documentation • Ability to operate independently, bring structure to ambiguous requirements and drive tangible delivery outcomes within aggressive timelines • ITIL certification or equivalent practical service management experience would be advantageous • PRINCE2, PMP, AgilePM, Microsoft Azure, AWS or equivalent cloud/project certifications would be advantageous • Ability to work remotely within Ireland
