📋 Description

• Place purchase orders to procure materials supporting manufacturing and other business functions • Build and maintain effective cross-functional relationships and communicate about timelines and supply-chain-impacting activities • Partner with manufacturing by understanding build schedules and managing supply-chain activities to improve efficiency and eliminate downtime • Ensure accurate and on-time delivery of parts and components; follow up with suppliers on purchase orders and manage delivery-date expectations • Understand material specifications and quality metrics; collaborate to resolve supplier quality issues • Develop supplier relationships and manage date pull-ins and push-outs • Mentor and advise purchasing team members and guide Buyer activities • Train new team members as an advisor and resource • Negotiate favorable supplier terms affecting pricing, quality, and payment terms • Track supplier performance, provide stakeholder feedback, and add or replace suppliers as needed • Collaborate with Finance to resolve supplier payment issues • Represent Plug Power professionally • Perform other assigned duties

🎯 Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Business, or another applicable field and five (5) or more years of related work experience, or equivalent combination of education and experience • Experience within a technology manufacturing environment is highly preferred • Ability to work independently in a fast-paced environment with minimal supervision • Demonstrated analytical abilities with strong attention to detail • Superior communication skills • Proficiency with Microsoft Office software, including highly developed Excel skills • Ability to manage projects and multitask effectively • Ability to role model high standards of professionalism • Excellent follow-through • Driven and self-motivated • Highest ethical standards and strong commitment to quality • Exempt employees must work as many hours as necessary to complete job responsibilities, potentially exceeding eight hours per day and five days or 40 hours per week
