📋 Description

• Develop a comprehensive Sustainable Forest Management Plan for PUR’s Thamma Raksa agroforestry project in Isaan, Thailand • Align the plan with Verified Carbon Standard Version 5.0 VM0047, the ABACUS Label and Symbiosis Quality Criteria • Develop maintenance practices including pruning, thinning, weeding and pest management • Develop selective harvesting guidelines covering tree selection, harvesting volumes, timing and methods • Conduct tree growth, biomass and harvesting analysis to support harvesting schedules and carbon-stock projections • Develop recommendations for post-harvesting management, replanting and natural regeneration • Consider Thailand’s forestry regulations, land tenure and socio-economic context • Develop a practical monitoring, reporting and verification framework • Support farmer engagement and develop practical training materials • Translate technical recommendations into practical guidance for farmers and field implementation partners • Deliver the Sustainable Forest Management Plan in English in Word and PDF formats • Prepare farmer-friendly summaries in English and Thai • Produce a harvesting schedule and biomass growth impact dataset in Excel • Develop farmer training modules covering site maintenance, selective harvesting and post-harvesting activities • Submit an inception report within 7 days of contract signing and meet the specified project milestones

🎯 Requirements

• Bachelor's degree or higher in Forestry, Agroforestry or a related field • Minimum 5 years of demonstrated experience developing forest management plans, particularly for small-scale and/or community-based forestry projects • Professional experience in Thailand or Southeast Asia in forestry, agroforestry or natural resource management • Experience working on carbon projects, particularly Verra/VCS, Gold Standard or similar standards • Familiarity with Thailand's forestry policies, land tenure systems and socio-economic context • Experience with stakeholder engagement and participatory planning • Strong experience in selective harvesting, harvesting volume estimation and tree growth analysis • Strong analytical and report-writing skills • Ability to work independently and meet tight deadlines • Proficiency in relevant technical software, such as GIS and statistical tools • Ability to produce deliverables in English and farmer-friendly summaries in English and Thai • At least two references from organizations where similar work has been undertaken • Ability to work in or authorization to work in Thailand is addressed in the application requirements
