📋 Description

• Design, develop, and maintain features across the whole platform, from backend systems and integrations to responsive, user-friendly web interfaces • Build, enhance, and maintain public and internal APIs, API documentation, and the MCP server • Use AI development tools for coding, refactoring, testing, debugging, and documentation, while reviewing and validating shipped work • Participate in technical decision-making and uphold engineering standards through code reviews, testing, performance, and accessibility • Advocate for and implement DevOps practices including monitoring, logging, and incident response • Collaborate with software engineers, product managers, designers, and business stakeholders to deliver a scalable gifting platform

🎯 Requirements

• 3+ years of experience in software development within a product-focused company • Solid grasp of software engineering principles, design patterns, and best practices • Comfortable contributing to both backend and frontend work • Experience with Ruby on Rails, relational databases, and SQL, including writing and optimizing queries and troubleshooting database issues • Experience building and maintaining web interfaces with React and modern JavaScript • Experience integrating frontend interfaces with RESTful APIs, handling asynchronous requests, and managing data flow • Experience designing, building, and maintaining RESTful APIs, including writing clear, user-friendly documentation • Regular use of AI coding assistants or agents, including effective prompting, context management, problem decomposition, and critical code review for correctness, security, and maintainability • Practical experience with automated testing, CI/CD workflows, and deployment processes • Familiarity with Sentry, DataDog, New Relic, and Sidekiq • Demonstrated skill in diagnosing and resolving complex issues in production and test environments • Preferred: E-commerce or B2B SaaS experience • Preferred: Experience building and maintaining third-party integrations with external APIs and vendors, including webhooks, retries, and data syncing
