📋 Description

• Act as the Engineering lead within a squad, guiding the team on architectural decisions, best practices, and technical execution • Collaborate closely with frontend technical leads to ensure smooth integration between backend and frontend services • Lead the technical strategy for backend development, ensuring scalability, reliability, and performance • Own the architecture and design of backend services and guide complex technical decisions • Develop and maintain robust, high-performance backend services using Node.js and NestJS (Express) • Research and implement new technologies, tools, and methodologies to improve development processes • Ensure system reliability and performance through testing, monitoring, and logging strategies • Collaborate with product, frontend, and DevOps teams to align technical solutions with business goals • Mentor and coach backend developers • Establish and enforce coding standards and best practices • Oversee deployments and production operations, ensuring high availability and rapid issue resolution • Participate in hiring processes to attract and assess engineering talent

🎯 Requirements

• 5+ years of experience in backend development • At least 2 years in a leadership or technical lead role • Strong expertise in Node.js and NestJS (Express) • Deep understanding of RESTful API design, security, and performance optimization • Advanced knowledge of relational databases, preferably PostgreSQL, including database modeling, performance tuning, and query optimization • Experience implementing unit, integration, and end-to-end testing frameworks • Expertise in microservices, event-driven architectures, and distributed systems • Hands-on experience with CI/CD pipelines, cloud platforms, preferably GCP, and infrastructure-as-code (IaC) • Proven ability to mentor and develop engineering teams • Spanish and English proficiency • Ability to work in a fast-paced startup environment with autonomy and ownership • Desirable: Docker, Kubernetes, RabbitMQ, Kafka, PubSub, serverless computing, and cloud-native development patterns
