📋 Description

• Serve as the first legal hire in APJ and build and manage the APJ legal team as the business grows • Support the go-to-market team by reviewing and negotiating customer contracts, primarily for the APJ sales team • Cultivate relationships with the APJ sales team and provide pragmatic, solutions-oriented legal counsel • Lead complex cross-border transactions with sophisticated counterparties across multiple jurisdictions • Monitor and advise on regulatory, compliance, and legal developments affecting the APJ region • Partner with the broader Legal team and cross-functional stakeholders • Provide training and enablement to internal stakeholders on legal issues and contract processes • Maintain and update legal agreements, policies, and templates • Develop and improve scalable workflows supporting rapid revenue growth and business stability • Support revenue-generating activities across the APJ region

🎯 Requirements

• Law degree and membership in good standing in Singapore or Australia • Minimum 10 years’ PQE practicing both with a law firm and in-house at a high-growth technology company • Proven experience drafting, negotiating, closing, and advising on complex commercial software and SaaS agreements with enterprise customers, partners, and resellers across multiple jurisdictions • Strong understanding of SaaS and software licensing legal issues, including data privacy, security, intellectual property, open-source, revenue recognition, and tax • Knowledge of professional services and go-to-market programs, such as partner/reseller programs • Excellent judgment and strong business orientation • Ability to translate legal risk into practical commercial advice within business objectives • Strong interpersonal, communication, and management skills • Ability to build trust and relationships with sales teams, cross-functional stakeholders, and customers • Exceptional attention to detail and strong organizational skills • Ability to manage multiple priorities and meet deadlines in a high-growth environment • Experience supporting a high-growth infrastructure SaaS company • Track record of performing with a sense of urgency in a fast-paced environment • Experience successfully hiring and managing attorneys and other legal specialists
