📋 Description

• Design and own front-end architectures using Next.js, React, and TypeScript for enterprise commerce implementations • Break epics into implementable stories with clear acceptance criteria • Identify technical dependencies and estimate complexity • Lead architectural decisions on rendering strategies, state management, caching, and performance optimization • Document architectural decisions in ADRs • Drive Core Web Vitals performance across the delivery team • Establish standards engineers build against in every pull request • Define coding standards and project conventions for engineers and AI agents • Collaborate with clients during discovery to translate business needs into scalable architecture roadmaps • Resolve technical ambiguity before sprints • Unblock engineers and escalate architectural drift when design intent diverges from implementation • Work directly with clients during discovery and sprint planning • Partner with leads and senior engineers through design reviews and ADRs • Collaborate asynchronously across time zones

🎯 Requirements

• Proven architectural experience designing front-end systems and leading distributed engineering teams (3+ people) • Deep proficiency in Next.js (App Router, React Server Components), React, TypeScript, and modern web architecture • Knowledge of SSR strategies, edge computing, and serverless patterns • Performance engineering expertise, including Core Web Vitals optimization, CDN configuration, and caching strategies • Track record of shipping measurable performance improvements • Strong written and verbal English • Ability to align technical work with client expectations and explain architectural tradeoffs to non-technical stakeholders • Evidence of designing work for agentic operation, including writing executable specifications, maintaining documentation as context infrastructure, and decomposing features into reviewable, reliable agent-generated output • Familiarity with commerce platforms: Shopify Storefront API, SFCC Composable Storefront, and BigCommerce • Experience with headless CMS platforms: Contentful, Sanity, and Contentstack • Experience with Shopify Plus, Salesforce Commerce Cloud, BigCommerce, or SCAYLE • Familiarity with Vercel and CI/CD pipelines • Familiarity with Cursor and/or Claude Code and ChatGPT • Familiarity with Jest, Cypress, and Playwright • Familiarity with Slack, Jira, and Confluence
