📋 Description

• Manage Space for Giants UK's full portfolio of government, bilateral, multilateral and institutional grant funding • Support conservation, human-wildlife coexistence, wildlife crime and green economy programmes across Africa • Lead donor prospecting, proposal development, grant negotiation, award management, compliance and reporting • Identify and research new grant opportunities aligned with organizational strategic priorities • Lead development, drafting, costing and submission of grant proposals, concept notes and budgets • Negotiate grant agreements, memoranda of understanding and sub-award terms • Manage the full grants lifecycle, including award set-up, compliance monitoring, financial and narrative reporting, amendments and close-out • Maintain the grants pipeline, tracker and income forecast for institutional funding • Ensure compliance with donor-specific rules, regulations and reporting formats • Coordinate with Finance on grant budgeting, expenditure tracking and donor financial reporting • Support donor due diligence exercises, audits and assessments • Build and maintain relationships with institutional donor programme officers and representatives • Brief the Director of Fundraising & Partnerships and CEO on pipeline status, risks and deadlines • Collaborate with the Director of Conservation, fundraising leadership, Country Directors, programme teams and Finance • Serve as primary relationship holder for institutional donors and manage routine donor engagement • Escalate material compliance breaches, significant risks and audit findings to the CFO and Company Secretary • Provide recommendations on grant agreements and sub-grant or partner agreements without signing authority • Submit Bamboo timesheets and monthly workplan documentation

🎯 Requirements

• Based in South Africa preferred • Experience and qualifications suitable for managing government, bilateral, multilateral and institutional grant funding • Ability to identify and research grant opportunities aligned with strategic priorities • Ability to develop, draft, cost and submit grant proposals, concept notes and budgets • Ability to negotiate grant agreements, memoranda of understanding and sub-award terms • Experience managing the full grants lifecycle, including compliance monitoring, financial and narrative reporting, amendments and close-out • Knowledge of donor-specific rules, regulations and reporting formats, including requirements typical of FCDO, USAID, EU, GIZ/BMZ, GEF or Darwin Initiative-type funders • Ability to coordinate grant budgeting, expenditure tracking and financial reporting with Finance • Ability to support donor due diligence, audits and assessments • Ability to build and maintain relationships with institutional donor representatives • Must handle sensitive donor information, unpublished proposals and financial data in accordance with confidentiality and data protection policies • Must declare actual or potential conflicts of interest involving other paid grant-writing, consultancy or advisory work • Occasional travel to the UK and African programme countries, indicatively 2–4 trips per year • Ability to work 8 hours per day on a part-time contract basis
