📋 Description

• Install, configure, and maintain VMware and OpenShift clusters on-premises • Monitor cluster performance and troubleshoot issues to ensure optimal operation • Manage user access and permissions within the OpenShift environment • Implement and manage CI/CD pipelines to automate application deployment • Work with development teams to optimize applications running on OpenShift • Create and maintain documentation related to OpenShift configurations and procedures • Stay updated with the latest OpenShift and Kubernetes features and best practices • Collaborate with security teams to implement best security practices for containerized applications • Perform conversions from VMware to OpenShift • Manage a VMware environment • Collaborate with the Engineering Team and operations teams to enhance infrastructure and support continuous integration and delivery workflows

🎯 Requirements

• Hands-on administration of OpenShift Container Platform (OCP) on bare-metal on-prem (UPI/IPI), including cluster lifecycle, upgrades, and multi-cluster operations • Red Hat Advanced Cluster Management (RH-ACM) experience with multi-cluster fleet management, cluster lifecycle, governance, and application deployment • OpenShift GitOps / ArgoCD experience for declarative, Git-based management of cluster configuration, operators, and workloads across many clusters • OpenShift Virtualization (OCP-Virt / KubeVirt) experience deploying and operating VMs, live migration, VM templates, and instance types • Hands-on Migration Toolkit for Virtualization (MTV) experience migrating from VMware vSphere and/or RHV • Experience with Kubernetes clusters and workloads and Red Hat Enterprise Linux (RHEL) administration • Experience with both Linux and Windows VMs in containerized/virtualized environments • VMware vSphere knowledge including vCenter, ESXi, clusters, networking (vDS), and storage (vSphere datastore), sufficient to plan and execute migrations • Red Hat Ansible Automation Platform and/or Python for infrastructure and migration automation • Networking and storage fundamentals including OVN-Kubernetes, SDN, multi-path storage, ODF/Ceph, and NFS/iSCSI/FC integration • Consulting skills including customer-facing communication, workshop facilitation, documentation, expectation management, and translating business requirements into technical solutions • Preferred: experience operating large multi-cluster estates (15+ clusters / 5,000+ VMs) across multiple data centers or availability zones • Preferred: GitOps at fleet scale, ArgoCD ApplicationSets, sync waves, multi-tenant AppProjects, Terraform, and CI/CD pipeline exposure • Preferred: Open Policy Agent / Gatekeeper, Compliance Operator, CIS benchmark scanning, and automated remediation • Preferred: Prometheus, Grafana, OpenShift Monitoring, and Loki/EFK logging • Preferred: live migration at scale, workload density tuning, and performance baselining on bare metal
