📋 Description

• Own and evolve the Kubernetes platform across multiple clusters • Manage Helm chart deployments via an OCI registry hosting 40+ charts • Enforce policy-as-code with Kyverno • Operate GitOps workflows through Argo CD ApplicationSets with progressive delivery orchestrated by Kargo • Drive technical designs for platform initiatives, assess trade-offs, recommend solutions, and deliver them to production • Harden platform security through workload identity via OIDC, runtime security, image scanning, and secrets management • Write and maintain custom Kubernetes operators and internal tooling in Go and Python • Maintain and improve the observability stack using Prometheus, Grafana, Thanos, and OpenSearch • Build dashboards and alerts for product teams • Keep GitLab CI/CD pipelines fast and reliable • Execute cross-team changes such as rollouts, database migrations, and certificate rotations • Operate and evolve AWS infrastructure including EKS, VPC, IAM, RDS, and S3 • Drive cost-efficiency initiatives tracked via OpenCost • Own incidents end-to-end, from alert to fix to postmortem • Conduct code and architecture reviews • Mentor less experienced engineers and assess technical candidates in interviews • Partner with product teams on infrastructure issues • Participate in a shared on-call rotation

🎯 Requirements

• 5+ years of professional engineering experience, including 3+ years in infrastructure, platform, or site reliability engineering • Deep hands-on experience with Kubernetes: cluster operations, workload management, troubleshooting at scale • Helm chart authoring: writing, packaging, and maintaining charts • GitOps experience with Argo CD or an equivalent tool (Flux, etc.) • Working knowledge of AWS, including EKS, IAM, VPC, RDS, and S3 • Experience with Infrastructure as Code (Terraform or equivalent) • Proficiency in Go or Python • Experience owning production incidents end-to-end: response, mitigation, and postmortem • Strong English communication skills, with the ability to explain technical decisions to engineers and non-technical stakeholders • Kubernetes operator development experience (nice-to-have) • Progressive delivery tooling experience with Kargo, Argo Rollouts, or equivalent (nice-to-have) • Policy-as-code experience with Kyverno or OPA (nice-to-have) • Runtime security tooling experience with Falco or equivalent (nice-to-have) • Familiarity with observability tooling such as Grafana and OpenSearch/Elasticsearch (nice-to-have) • Experience with CI/CD pipelines, preferably GitLab CI (nice-to-have) • Experience mentoring engineers or participating in technical hiring (nice-to-have) • German language skills helpful for customer site interactions
