📋 Description

• Run the API and frontend teams day to day, unblocking, reviewing, and keeping them shipping • Set and maintain a high engineering bar for performance, reliability, and clean APIs • Own technical design of features and the API surface between Keet’s core and app • Coordinate API team work with deep technology teams on code reviews and design • Partner with product managers to turn vision and roadmap into scoped, buildable work • Challenge scope and propose better implementation paths • Bring engineering perspective to product decisions involving P2P capabilities • Use AI tools and quick prototypes to validate ideas • Clarify team goals and define success • Mentor team leads and improve team operating systems • Lead by example while developing team ownership

🎯 Requirements

• Experience managing engineers or engineering leads who ship consumer products, ideally in chat, calling, or social apps • Strong product sense • Intuition for distributed and local-first systems • Familiarity with offline-first and eventual consistency • Deep JavaScript and React • Initiative, curiosity, resilience, and ability to give and receive direct critique • Bonus: experience with local-first apps, CRDTs or sync engines, offline-capable mobile or desktop apps, or open source
