The International Council on Clean Transportation (ICCT) is an independent, nonprofit research organization dedicated to advancing cleaner transportation worldwide. Established over 20 years ago, the ICCT collaborates with policymakers and regulators to provide timely and objective research and analysis focused on improving the environmental performance of road, marine, and air transportation. By influencing global policies, the ICCT aims to benefit public health and combat climate change through innovative solutions in transportation fuels and technology.

📋 Description

• Conduct high-quality research supporting regulations that limit the environmental impacts of light-duty vehicles, heavy-duty vehicles, and two-wheelers, including fleet electrification strategies • Develop quantitative and qualitative analyses of technology and operational strategies to reduce vehicle emissions and inform transportation policies • Research industrial policy strategies for local manufacturing and assembly of zero-emission vehicles and components • Support technical analysis, capacity building, and knowledge exchange for supply-side regulations • Engage with government officials, policymakers, NGOs, academic experts, and industry partners • Author or co-author one or two ICCT publications and contribute to blogs, briefing papers, and memos • Review and summarize technical and scientific literature, and review colleagues’ and consultants’ work • Prepare presentations and present findings in workshops, conferences, regulatory working groups, and policymaker briefings • Help organize briefings, meetings, and workshops

🎯 Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree (required) in engineering, environmental science, environmental or public policy, economics, transportation, or a related field • Strong interest in vehicle technology (electric and combustion), vehicle emissions and fuel economy regulations, urban transport policy, and climate policy • Strong quantitative, analytical, and research skills • Proficiency in data analysis with Excel, Python, R, or similar tools • Excellent written and verbal communication skills • Ability to translate technical findings into clear, policy-relevant messages for diverse audiences • Fluency in both Vietnamese and English, written and spoken (required) • Relevant work or research experience in transportation, energy, or environmental policy in Vietnam or Southeast Asia is a plus • Recent graduate or early-career professional • Ability to work with colleagues around the world • Initiative, resourcefulness, and strong time management skills • Master’s degree or Ph.D. in a related field preferred
