📋 Description

• Own technical direction, including architecture, data model, security, testing, and code review • Approve everything that ships, while the product founder signs off on visual changes • Set up the test framework using Vitest, Playwright, and GitHub Actions as a merge gate • Build foundations including Postgres with row-level security, authentication, Stripe billing, background jobs, transactional email, and third-party integrations • Lead the launch of the new platform and migrate 60 customers from GoHighLevel without losing data • Run a two-week parallel migration period • Own production error tracking, logging, alerts, incident response, performance, and cost control • Create documentation • Help hire and lead the next engineer • Guide the product founder’s AI-assisted development, shape briefs, identify risks early, and prevent conflicting work • Weeks 1–2: get set up, learn the code and build plan, and ship a small fix • Month 1: review everything that ships and own security and data protection • Months 2–3: lead the launch and migrate customers across

🎯 Requirements

• 5+ years as a professional software engineer • 2+ years building and running a multi-tenant SaaS product in production • Strong TypeScript, React 19, and Next.js App Router skills, including Server Components, Server Actions, streaming, and caching in Next.js 15/16 • Strong PostgreSQL skills beyond the ORM, including schema design, migrations, indexing, query performance, and row-level security • Production Stripe experience with subscriptions, webhooks, idempotency, and usage- or credit-based billing • Experience with background jobs and queues such as Inngest, Trigger.dev, or BullMQ • Experience with automated testing as a release gate, CI, and Vercel preview deployments • Production ownership using Sentry or similar • Daily disciplined use of agentic AI coding tools such as Claude Code, Cursor, or Codex • Experience reviewing others’ code as the gate to production • Experience mentoring less experienced builders • Ability to work as the only engineer and independently pick up work • Ability to explain technical risk in plain English with options and a recommendation • Nice to have: experience with LLM APIs, customer and data migrations, large external datasets, third-party data APIs, multi-tenant security fundamentals, GoHighLevel, Resend, MapLibre, SEO, and Core Web Vitals
