📋 Description
• Lead strategy, design, and delivery for a core part of NIRA’s platform • Set technical direction and identify strategic needs and risks • Drive large, high-stakes projects from design through launch • Promote adoption of AI-native engineering tools such as Claude, Cursor, and Augment • Mentor engineers through Senior level and raise engineering standards in Bangalore • Own SEV1 and lower incident response through resolution • Align with Principal Engineering and peers across NIRA, Cashalo, and US teams • Influence product direction through technical tradeoffs • Simplify system designs to reduce complexity • Shape the technical direction of a critical domain within Tilt’s credit platform
🎯 Requirements
• 9+ years building web APIs, ideally in Java and Spring Boot • Deep experience with financial systems, including state machines and complex lifecycles • Strong grasp of distributed systems and queue-based architectures • Proven track record scaling consumer products at high transaction volume • End-to-end ownership of design, execution, and reporting on initiatives • Comfortable making fast decisions with incomplete information • Ability to mentor engineers and raise the technical bar • Genuine enthusiasm for AI development tools • Preference for simplicity over clever abstractions
