📋 Description

• Design, build, and operate core billing platform services at massive scale • Build and integrate services supporting billing lifecycle, payment experience, product discovery, and account lifecycle management • Transition Twilio’s platform and customers to next-generation architecture • Design and implement new features in existing services and build new services from scratch • Troubleshoot and resolve operational issues while improving troubleshooting procedures and tools • Execute the full software development life cycle • Develop flowcharts and documentation to identify solutions • Write well-designed, testable code • Document and maintain software functionality • Troubleshoot, debug, and upgrade existing systems • Collaborate with Product teams and stakeholders to define requirements and technical work • Own and lead multiple platform domains from inception to deployment and maintenance

🎯 Requirements

• 5+ years of work experience building highly scalable products • 5+ years of programming experience in an object-oriented language (Java or similar) with clean code practices • Expert knowledge of object-oriented programming • Experience contributing to architecture and design, including design patterns, reliability, and scaling • Experience working closely with Product teams to understand requirements and define technical work • Experience working with stakeholders at all levels • Experience with relational and non-relational databases • Experience delivering observability and improving early warning systems, such as Grafana, Datadog, or Prometheus • Experience collaborating with internal and external teams/engineers • Experience owning and leading platform domains from inception through deployment and maintenance • Familiarity with AWS, Kubernetes/EKS, CI/CD pipelines, testing, and automation • Degree in Computer Science or a related field, or equivalent work experience • Experience with on-call support, complex SQL queries, customer-facing applications, production debugging, Linux, and Kubernetes/containerization are desired • Nice-to-have skills: gRPC, Python, TypeScript, React, Apache Kafka • Clear written and spoken communication skills
