📋 Description

• Own product strategy and execution for financial technology products from discovery through specification, delivery, launch, and post-launch metrics • Own the roadmap across credit and lending, savings and deposits, payments and foreign exchange, and new products • Conduct customer discovery with individual borrowers, savers, SMEs, business operators, and freelancers • Size opportunities, instrument funnels, and validate hypotheses against production data • Make and defend prioritisation decisions across different product lines using quantitative evidence • Track competitor activity and translate it into product decisions • Write product and technical specifications that engineers and AI coding agents can implement directly • Prototype concepts in Claude Design before committing engineering resources • Code and ship small pull requests using Claude Code when faster than handing off • Drive delivery end to end, owning scope, timeline, and quality • Manage delivery cadence in Linear, including standups, sprint reviews, unblocking, bug triage, and trade-off calls • Coordinate leadership, Engineering, Data, Credit, Operations, Risk, Compliance, and Marketing stakeholders • Own revenue, growth, and risk outcomes; track metrics post-launch and iterate • Review AI-generated implementations, prototypes, and analyses for correctness, edge cases, and business fit • Build feedback loops from customer signal through specification, AI-assisted build, metrics, and subsequent specifications • Own launch communications and internal enablement

🎯 Requirements

• 5+ years in product management • Direct experience shipping consumer or SME products in fintech, banking, lending, or payments • Track record of owning outcomes measured by revenue, active users, default rate, or deposit growth • Strong stakeholder coordination across Leadership, Engineering, Data, Credit, Operations, Risk, Compliance, and Marketing • Strong written communication and ability to write clear, unambiguous, testable specifications • Comfortable reading production data independently • SQL fluency, or willingness to achieve it in week one • Demonstrated proficiency using AI tools such as Claude Code, Claude Design, Codex, and similar tools in daily workflows • Experience shipping real work with AI tools • Comfortable reading and writing code and shipping small pull requests with Claude Code • High agency and ability to move from problem to validated solution to shipped product independently • Ability to read financial regulatory guidance and translate it into product requirements • Highly preferred: experience with credit products, including origination, scoring, and collections • Highly preferred: experience with deposit products, including rate strategy, treasury, and funding • Highly preferred: exposure to foreign exchange, cross-border payments, stablecoins, or virtual account infrastructure • Highly preferred: experience with engineering teams using AI coding agents in production workflows • Highly preferred: prior work in emerging markets, particularly Africa, Southeast Asia, or Latin American fintech • Bonus: founder or 0-to-1 product experience • Bonus: familiarity with trade finance instruments, including invoice factoring, LPO financing, and purchase order financing • Salary expectations in Kenyan Shillings • Valid work authorisation for Kenya • Short note describing something built end to end using AI, including what it was, how AI was used, and what shipped
