📋 Description

• Lead and execute GBCI’s market development and business development strategy for South Korea, while advancing opportunities in Japan and Taiwan • Develop and execute market strategies to strengthen GBCI’s presence, expand customer and partner networks, increase market penetration, and support long-term growth • Serve as a subject matter expert and thought leader on LEED, sustainable buildings, and green building practices • Educate stakeholders through meetings, presentations, workshops, conferences, webinars, industry events, and written, verbal, and in-person channels • Build and maintain relationships with developers, owners, corporations, architects, engineers, contractors, consultants, service providers, government agencies, and industry organizations • Serve as GBCI’s primary representative and market ambassador in South Korea and represent the organization in Japan and Taiwan • Identify and advance market opportunities, strategic relationships, partnerships, priority sectors, and adoption of LEED and other GBCI programs • Develop partner and service-provider networks to increase market reach and stakeholder engagement • Pursue innovative approaches, business opportunities, partnerships, and market development initiatives • Provide strategic and technical leadership and communicate the business value of GBCI programs to technical and nontechnical audiences • Guide clients and project teams on LEED certification pathways, sustainability best practices, and GBCI certification processes • Monitor market trends, customer needs, competitive activity, regulatory and industry developments, and emerging opportunities • Provide feedback on USGBC and GBCI resources, products, programs, and market initiatives • Share market intelligence, customer feedback, stakeholder insights, and strategic recommendations with regional and global teams • Coordinate market development campaigns, educational initiatives, and stakeholder engagement activities • Maintain customer and stakeholder relationships to improve satisfaction, retention, and long-term engagement • Manage priorities and relationships independently in a fully remote, internationally matrixed environment • Travel extensively throughout South Korea and periodically to Japan, Taiwan, mainland China, and other North Asia locations

🎯 Requirements

• Minimum of 10 years of professional experience in green building, sustainability, engineering, architecture, construction, real estate, market development, business development, sustainability consulting, client engagement, strategic relationship management, or a related field • Experience leading market development or business development strategies and translating relationships, partnerships, and opportunities into measurable market growth • Strong understanding of the sustainable building and green building industry • Experience working with LEED certification projects, consulting firms, developers, corporations, or sustainability-focused organizations • Experience developing relationships and conducting business within the South Korean market • Strong understanding of Korean business culture, industry dynamics, and professional practices • Experience representing an organization externally through presentations, events, conferences, workshops, or other market-facing activities • Ability to establish credibility as a subject matter expert or trusted advisor • Experience identifying market trends, customer needs, and opportunities and translating insights into strategies • Master’s degree in a relevant discipline preferred • Bachelor’s degree • Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite, Microsoft Teams, Power BI, virtual collaboration tools, LEED Online, and GBCI platforms; Salesforce CRM platforms preferred • Strong market development and business development capabilities • Strategic relationship building and stakeholder engagement • Technical understanding of sustainable buildings, green building practices, and LEED • Strong presentation, public speaking, client-facing communication, cross-cultural communication, customer relationship management, organizational, prioritization, and project management skills • Ability to work independently in a remote environment and collaborate across regional and global teams • LEED AP BD+C or LEED AP O+M required • Professional fluency in Korean • Professional fluency in English • Willingness and ability to travel extensively throughout South Korea and periodically to Japan, Taiwan, mainland China, and other North Asia locations
