📋 Description

• Lead the technical evaluation of complex parts, assemblies, and projects • Standardize DFM analysis by defining checklists and guidelines and handling complex or high-risk cases • Review drawings, specifications, and project documentation for manufacturing risks, tolerances, materials, and process requirements • Guide selection of manufacturing processes, capabilities, and providers • Define, maintain, and audit the technical tagging framework • Act as final technical reviewer for complex or high-value quotations • Identify and resolve technical gaps, risks, and ambiguities • Provide manufacturing expertise for critical deals, escalations, and strategic customer projects • Lead technical meetings with clients and manufacturing providers, present DFM recommendations, propose alternatives, and resolve technical challenges • Present technical information to technical and non-technical stakeholders • Coach, mentor, and develop Sourcing Engineers, including training on DFM, machining, and sheet metal processes • Support onboarding and training of new team members • Prioritize and distribute team workload during peak periods • Maintain a knowledge base of best practices and technical guidelines • Collaborate with engineering, sourcing, sales, quality, and operations • Lead continuous improvement initiatives for sourcing and quotation workflows • Contribute to tools, automation, and data used in technical assessment • Track and report team metrics such as quote accuracy, turnaround time, and tagging quality

🎯 Requirements

• Higher technical education in Mechanical Engineering, Manufacturing Engineering, or a related field • 5+ years in a manufacturing environment working with complex parts or assemblies, including experience in sourcing engineering, technical procurement, or supplier engineering • Proven experience with CNC machines (lathe/turning and milling) and sheet metal forming (cutting, bending, forming, welding) • Ability to judge machine capability, setups, tooling, and cycle-time implications • Strong experience performing and leading DFM analysis across multiple processes • In-depth understanding of CNC machining, sheet metal fabrication, casting, injection molding, 3D printing, surface finishing, GD&T, technical drawings, materials, and quality requirements • Proven experience working with suppliers, manufacturers, and cross-functional sourcing and engineering teams • Ability to guide, motivate, and develop technical colleagues and make sound decisions on ambiguous or high-risk projects • Excellent written and verbal communication skills • English at B2 level or higher • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills • Ability to manage multiple projects and priorities in a fast-paced environment • Strong interpersonal and collaboration skills • Ability to adapt to changing priorities and attention to detail
