• Provide nursing care from initial patient contact until relinquishment to the accepting medical facility • Assess, triage, treat, and prioritize care for critically ill or injured patients during safe transport • Maintain thorough patient care documentation and required licensure, certification, training, and clinical records • Maintain competency through laboratory, clinical, continuing education, and advanced skills experiences • Operate and maintain medical equipment and supplies; report failures and initiate repairs • Keep aircraft clean and orderly and maintain adequate onboard supplies • Attend pre-mission briefings and mission debriefings and complete required documentation • Assist with liftoff checklists and support pilots with radio, navigation, and visual observation activities • Conduct aircraft safety briefings and comply with safety standards • Support neonatal and pediatric specialty transports and perform approved advanced procedures • Participate in patient and referring-institution follow-up and outreach marketing and education • Precept and orient new employees and students • Participate in meetings, activities, projects, committees, research, and publishing opportunities • Work scheduled 24-hour shifts at CBS bases where currently licensed
• Graduate of an accredited School of Nursing • Minimum three (3) years recent critical care/emergency nursing experience within the last 5 years or as required by state/local EMS regulations • One year of full-time flight experience required • Current RN license(s) for states of practice where Air Methods maintains CBS locations • Nurse compact license preferred • EMS or MICN certification/licensure as required by state regulations • Current Healthcare Provider BLS/CPR, ACLS, PALS or equivalent, and TNCC/ITLS/PHTLS advanced-provider certifications as required by state or county • Specialty certification required: CFRN, CCRN, or CEN • One approved advanced trauma course required: TNCC, ATLS/ATCN, TPATC, or CAMTS-approved course • Current NRP certification • NIMS Training IS 100, 200, 700, 800 and HazMat • Maintain weight not exceeding 225 pounds including empty flight suit and boots • Nursing and advanced-practice skills within assigned state scope of practice and Medical Director standards • Strong critical-thinking, reasoning, prioritization, multitasking, communication, presentation, and interpersonal skills • Ability to work flexible schedules including 24-hour shifts, overtime, and on-call rotation • Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite, including Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Outlook • Ability to maintain availability for at least two 24-hour shifts per week at any CBS base where currently licensed
