Beschreibung

• Receive and process inbound donor referrals from hospitals, hospices, and medical examiner/coroner offices • Document referral details in iTransplant (iTX) • Conduct preliminary and comprehensive medical screening of potential donors using FDA, AATB, DNWest, and processing-partner guidelines • Coordinate donation cases among Donor Operations, recovery teams, logistics, hospitals, medical examiners/coroners, funeral directors, and processing partners • Identify and resolve missing or incomplete documentation • Ensure donor suitability, timely recovery, and maximal tissue yield while meeting regulatory, medical, and ethical standards • Conduct Donation Discussions with legally appropriate individuals and secure tissue-donation authorization • Perform medical and social history interviews and support grieving families • Serve as a Donation Discussion subject matter expert and train, coach, mentor, and assess Donation Coordinators • Provide real-time guidance and serve as first escalation point for Donation Coordinators • Delegate daily tasks, conduct Pre-Approach Reviews, participate in huddles, manage the Organ Board, and support floor management • Coordinate recovery locations and donor transport while maintaining donor dignity • Identify process errors, provide corrective training, and keep management informed of discrepancies • Complete required documentation, chart corrections, trainings, meetings, and professional development

🎯 Anforderungen

• Minimum 5 years of experience approaching grieving families and securing tissue authorizations at DNWest or an AATB accredited OPO/Tissue Bank • Minimum average of 375 authorized cases year over year • Required high school diploma or equivalent • Strong knowledge of disease processes and related conditions • Demonstrated excellence in all essential functions of Donation Coordinator I, II, and III roles • Ability to learn and apply adult learning theory, curriculum, and assessment design • Ability to use multiple computer programs, electronic medical records, telephonic management systems, Microsoft Office, and office equipment while sitting for long hours • Strong organizational, time management, prioritization, critical thinking, problem-solving, and strategic skills • Excellent communication skills with grieving families, hospitals, funeral homes, medical examiners/coroners, and processing partners • Compassionate and professional demeanor • Attention to detail and ability to analyze and document medical information accurately • Bachelor's degree in biological sciences or equivalent allied-health credential preferred • CTP, CPTC, or CTBS certification bonus
