Beschreibung

• Lead Fingerprint’s cross-cutting architecture as the company’s first dedicated Architect • Build and maintain the end-to-end architecture picture, including data flows, service boundaries, and ownership seams • Identify systemic scaling, reliability, and cost risks across ingestion, identification, signals, and delivery pipelines • Drive architectural changes before risks become incidents • Set direction for API design and service patterns across REST, SDK, and MCP surfaces • Shape foundational initiatives such as cell architecture, multi-region readiness, rate limiting, and feature flag infrastructure • Serve as technical lead across the engineering organization without direct reports • Set agendas, drive decisions to closure, maintain decision records, and ensure adoption across teams • Partner with Engineering leadership and Staff/Lead engineers to prioritize cross-cutting work • Mentor Staff-level engineers on system design, technical writing, and influence • Strengthen RFCs and cross-team design reviews • Establish standards for observability, quality, security-by-design, and API evolution/versioning • Review and sign off on critical designs • Translate business trajectory into multi-quarter technical strategy and sequence the work • Advise Engineering leadership and executives on build/buy decisions, platform investment, and technical risk • Lead AI adoption in engineering practices and shape systems for AI-agent effectiveness • Prototype, write reference implementations and documentation, and investigate production issues as needed • Report directly to the VP of Engineering

🎯 Anforderungen

• 10+ years of software engineering experience • 3+ years operating as an Architect for a 100+ Engineering organization • Experience owning architecture for a platform, not just a service • Track record of leading through influence and driving adoption of standards across an organization • Deep expertise in distributed systems and high-throughput, low-latency backend architecture • Experience with Go or a similar systems language • Experience with Kubernetes and AWS • Experience with event-driven and data-intensive systems • Experience designing public APIs and SDKs at scale, including versioning, backward compatibility, and multi-surface consistency • Demonstrated ability to anticipate and mitigate systemic risk • Exceptional written communication and documented decision-making • Regular use of AI coding and reasoning tools • Ability to architect codebases, documentation, service boundaries, and APIs for safe human and AI-agent use • Pragmatic approach to balancing architecture with delivery pressure • Experience stepping into a newly dedicated role and earning stakeholder trust • Must be authorized to work from the candidate's home location • Nice to have: fraud detection, identity, device intelligence, adversarial domains, multi-region/cell-based architecture, MCP, LLM tool integrations, agent-facing API design, ClickHouse, Kafka, or similar high-volume data infrastructure
