Beschreibung

• Use engineering to support fundraising and delight donors • Help fundraisers and ensure donations are recorded and safely started on their journey to recipients • Communicate to donors and the public what happens to their gifts • Develop websites and maintain fundraising-related plumbing and integrations • Work directly with fundraising teams • Define, implement, test, launch, and maintain work autonomously • Fix bugs and debug legacy and other engineers' code • Own incidents and communicate with fundraisers during peak donation periods • Work with Laravel, PHP, plain JavaScript, HTML, CSS, Salesforce, WordPress, SQL, and partner-provided CSV files • Collaborate with non-engineers on messy, poorly defined, rapidly changing tasks

🎯 Anforderungen

• Right to work in one of the countries GiveDirectly is able to hire from • Fluent in English • 4+ years of engineering experience • Willingness to work remotely with meetings overlapping East Africa Time and US Eastern Time • Willingness to travel to meet colleagues in the US, Europe, and Africa a few weeks per year • Comfortable with Laravel, PHP, plain JavaScript, HTML, CSS, Salesforce, WordPress, SQL, and CSV files; experience in all is not required • Ability to work autonomously, define tasks, test and launch work, fix bugs, and make progress independently • Ability to be on-call on peak donation days and own incidents, including communicating with fundraisers and debugging legacy and others' code • Skilled at working directly with non-engineers on messy, poorly defined, rapidly changing tasks • Successful completion of take-home coding assignment, live coding, systems design, and project deep dive/behavioral interviews • Agreement with GiveDirectly's mission and values • Background, reference, criminal background, sanctions, and safeguarding checks may be conducted
