Beschreibung

• Lead the people, delivery, and technical direction of the Chronicle engineering team • Translate business and customer needs into realistic engineering priorities and outcomes • Work with Product to obtain roadmap priorities and break epics into individual tickets • Review designs and code, support complex technical work, resolve blockers, and help manage production incidents • Serve as direct line manager for assigned engineers and oversee their day-to-day employee experience • Establish expectations, objectives, accountability, development plans, and performance reviews • Coach and develop team members and address performance concerns in partnership with HR • Monitor workload, engagement, wellbeing, and team dynamics • Own delivery commitments and establish realistic plans based on priorities, capacity, dependencies, technical debt, and risk • Facilitate planning, prioritization, and execution while maintaining clear ownership • Communicate status, risks, trade-offs, and changes to Product and leadership • Strengthen engineering practices for estimation, documentation, testing, code review, release management, incident response, and continuous improvement • Guide architecture, system design, and implementation decisions • Maintain standards for secure, reliable, maintainable, documented, testable, and observable software • Help engineers evaluate trade-offs involving reliability, performance, scale, security, delivery speed, and maintainability • Ensure ownership of production systems, operational issues, incidents, defects, and technical debt • Support incident response and follow-up on significant technical or customer issues • Participate in customer discussions and investigate complex customer escalations • Build effective cross-functional relationships and communicate technical issues to nontechnical stakeholders

🎯 Anforderungen

• Experience leading software engineers, including coaching, feedback, and performance management • Strong technical credibility gained through hands-on software engineering experience • Experience delivering enterprise software or complex SaaS products • Strong experience with Python, or deep experience with Java or C# combined • Experience with distributed systems, large data volumes, concurrency, scaling, APIs, and complex technical problems • Experience with AWS or Google Cloud Platform • Experience with Agile or Kanban delivery, continuous deployment, and modern deployment tools • Sound judgment, self-awareness, and a consistent approach to accountability and employee support • Ability to balance people leadership, technical leadership, client needs, and delivery expectations • Experience with NoSQL technologies such as Cassandra or CouchDB • Experience with Elasticsearch, OpenSearch, or other search technologies • Experience with React or a similar frontend framework • Experience supporting security, compliance, or data-governance products • Experience leading teams through technical modernization, operational improvement, or scaling challenges • Experience working with legal technology, enterprise data, or digital preservation systems
