Beschreibung

• Serve as scientific and operational leader for one or more early-stage drug development programs emerging from the Cambridge Research team • Bridge discovery and development from late-stage lead optimization through IND • Lead and coordinate cross-functional teams spanning medicinal chemistry, CMC, formulation, biology, toxicology, DMPK/ADME, translational science, regulatory, clinical, and patient advocacy • Define and oversee scientific strategy for small molecule and/or ASO programs • Establish and manage relationships with CROs and CDMOs • Integrate multidisciplinary data to drive candidate selection aligned with the Target Product Profile • Facilitate resource allocation and cross-functional decision-making • Drive project strategy, milestones, timelines, execution, and deliverables • Identify and manage scientific, CMC, and clinical risks, including mitigation and contingency planning • Develop, maintain, and communicate integrated project plans, timelines, budgets, and risk registers with Program Management • Lead discussions to develop early Target Product Profiles • Facilitate team meetings, drive decisions, and ensure accountability • Present program updates to senior leadership and governance committees • Collaborate with portfolio management to align with corporate strategy • Provide updates to the Cambridge Development Program team • Author and review early TPPs, project charters, integrated development plans, and regulatory briefing documents • Present program status and support presentations of scientific findings to internal leadership

🎯 Anforderungen

• PhD in Medicinal Chemistry, Pharmacology, Pharmaceutical Sciences, Translational Medicine, Biochemistry, or a related discipline directly relevant to small molecule or oligonucleotide drug discovery and development • 15+ years of experience in the pharmaceutical/biotech industry, with increasing levels of responsibility • 5+ years of industry experience in small molecule drug and/or oligonucleotide therapeutic discovery and development • Demonstrated experience leading cross-functional drug development matrix teams in a pharmaceutical or biotech environment • Track record of advancing programs from lead optimization through IND and into FIH • Experience engaging with regulatory agencies including FDA and EMA in early development settings, such as pre-IND, INTERACT, and Type B/C meetings • Highly effective and proactive communication skills • Ability to manage in a matrix environment by influence • Proficiency in building trust, inspiring confidence, articulating challenges and opportunities, and aligning teams across complex decision-making
