Beschreibung

• Perform FISH analysis, including analysis and imaging of digitized images • Perform cytogenetic analysis of metaphase spreads via computerized images • Review cytogenetic cases via computerized images and documents • Review test requisitions to gather pertinent details for analysis • Summarize test results utilizing ISCN nomenclature • Distinguish between normal and abnormal test results • Monitor, operate, and troubleshoot equipment, software, and applications • Make technical decisions regarding testing and problem solving • Report accurate and timely test results to support quality patient care • Report problems to the general supervisor in a timely manner • Collaborate with the general supervisor on protocol and policy development and review • Provide feedback to senior technologists on technical matters • Comply with company policies and procedures • Maintain a safe work environment • Focus on onscreen FISH analysis with occasional chromosome work using Metasystems (Neon) and Applied Spectral Imaging (ASI); no wet lab or bench work

🎯 Anforderungen

• Bachelor’s degree in a Chemical or Biological science, Clinical Laboratory Science or Medical Technology • ASCP certification in Cytogenetics (ASCP CG) • 1 year or more experience in FISH and Chromosomes for Oncology Cytogenetics • Non-traditional degrees with applicable science credits that meet CLIA standards may meet education requirements in lieu of the listed education requirements • Ability to work independently and within a team environment • Proficient with computers; familiarity with laboratory information systems is a plus • High level of attention to detail along with strong communication and organizational skills • Able to pass a standardized color blindness test • Flexibility to work overtime or other shifts depending on business needs • Dedicated home office room that is not shared with other people and meets HIPAA compliance • Wired internet with a minimum speed of 100 mb/sec • Ability to work remotely effectively in a fast-paced, multi-site environment while juggling competing priorities and demands
