Beschreibung

• Lead, mentor, and grow a high-performing team of data engineers • Define the strategic vision and technical roadmap for the data platform • Evaluate architectural proposals and technical designs for alignment with business goals, platform vision, architecture, and security • Embed best practices for self-service platform engineering, CI/CD, and SRE • Own the operational health of the platform through SLOs • Collaborate with Product, Architecture, Analytics, Operations, and Security teams • Drive projects from inception to delivery while considering customer needs and wider platform strategy • Engage with clients and vendors on integration patterns and implementation • Invest in NatWest Boxed’s overall platform architecture • Ensure the security of systems and working practices • Identify and solve engineering-wide challenges • Deliver high-quality work and empower engineers to make a significant impact

🎯 Anforderungen

• Proven experience leading, managing, and scaling high-performing data mesh architectures • Ability to connect technical architecture decisions directly to business outcomes, including cost, risk, and revenue impacts • Experience designing, building, and operating scalable, distributed systems in a regulated environment • Strong technical background in cloud-native technologies such as AWS and GCP • Experience with event streaming, including Kafka • Deep understanding of platform engineering principles • Experience with infrastructure-as-code, such as Terraform and Crossplane • Knowledge of data streaming platforms and data transformation • Experience with observability tools such as Datadog and OpenTelemetry • Understanding of self-service platform design • Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills • Ability to articulate complex technical concepts to diverse internal and external audiences • Experience with FinTech or banking would be advantageous • Hands-on experience with Python or Go would be advantageous
