Beschreibung

• Respond to potential organ donor referrals at area hospitals • Evaluate potential organ donors and medically manage consented donors in the ICU • Allocate organs according to UNOS/OPTN policy and procedures • Coordinate recovery of organs and tissues from potential donors • Take initial referral information and organ offers from other OPOs for patients on local transplant lists • Maintain and manage donors with hospital ICU care teams in accordance with OPTN/UNOS and FLDRN protocols • Screen donor referrals and travel to donor hospitals for assessment and evaluation • Determine medical suitability for organ and tissue donation through laboratory studies, medical record review, and physical assessment • Complete authorization forms and Donor Risk Assessment Interviews • Provide donor organ-function information to designated transplant centers according to the OPTN/UNOS match run list • Arrange ground and air transportation for local and visiting surgical teams • Coordinate operating room scheduling and notify preservation teams • Prepare operative notes and medical examiner forms • Coordinate ancillary services including medical examiners, coroners, and pathologists • Complete FLDRN paperwork and iTransplant information accurately and promptly • Resolve documentation issues identified by quality assurance for post-donor follow-up • Attend clinical and joint staff meetings • Perform other duties as assigned

🎯 Anforderungen

• Bachelor's degree in Nursing, Physician’s Assistant or Allied Healthcare Provider, or equivalent combination of education and experience • 2 years of experience in ICU, pre-hospital, or Emergency Room, including experience as an Allied Healthcare Provider (RN, LPN, Paramedic, Respiratory Therapist, etc.) • Ability to manage complex tasks and coordinate multiple time-sensitive responsibilities • Availability to be on call 15 days per month, including 2 weekends • Certified Procurement Transplant Coordinator (CPTC) conducted by the American Board for Transplant Certification (ATBC) within 2 years required • Critical care experience, ACLS, and TNCC preferred
