Beschreibung

• Lead engineers within the Sportsbook Client team powering the Fanatics Sportsbook app • Hire, retain, and develop engineers through feedback, coaching, and career growth plans • Lead team execution and delivery planning with clear ownership and proactive risk management • Partner with product, design, and technical leadership on priorities, roadmaps, business strategy, and technical debt • Establish team norms, rituals, and operational rhythms supporting high performance, psychological safety, continuous learning, and collaboration • Guide architectural decisions and technical quality standards as a technical soundboard and player-coach • Drive operational health, reliability, and observability for team-owned services and client applications • Participate in incident escalation management and post-incident reviews • Optimize sprint planning, grooming, story pointing, and retrospectives • Improve observability, reliability, resilience, maintainability, and production incident response • Develop, test, document, and deploy software into production • Work with product, design, and internal stakeholders on technology decisions • Participate in an on-call rotation and troubleshoot application-related problems • Escalate tasks or projects that encounter roadblocks • Develop understanding of the industry, products, features, and roadmap • Attend occasional travel for conferences, events, meetings, and team-building activities

🎯 Anforderungen

• 7+ years of software engineering experience • 2+ years of direct engineering management or technical leadership experience managing software engineers • Experience hiring, mentoring, and growing engineering talent and building high-performing, inclusive teams • Strong technical foundation in mobile or client-service systems • Architectural depth to evaluate designs, guide trade-offs, and support engineering best practices • Experience managing delivery plans, unblocking engineers, and driving operational rigor and quality in an Agile/Scrum environment • Familiarity with Agile software product delivery and SCRUM methodology • Ability to work cross-functionally within an enterprise environment • A Bachelor’s degree, or professional certification, or a combination of education and experience • Preferred: experience with Spring Boot or similar Java frameworks • Preferred: experience with large-scale distributed systems and event-driven architectures • Preferred: exposure to AWS or GCP, CI/CD pipelines, and observability tools • Preferred: familiarity with functional programming and actor-based concurrency frameworks such as Apache Pekko or Akka • Willingness to travel occasionally to Fanatics offices and other locations • Interview and onboarding may include in-person components depending on the role and location
