Beschreibung

• Manage staff engineers, including hiring, performance, growth, retention, leave coverage, and day-to-day technical direction • Hold the technical bar across supported applications and arbitrate architecture disagreements • Manage the offshore relationship through the Offshore Engineering Manager, including the AVPL India delivery team, vendor relationship, and vendor performance and quality • Lead a blended onshore and offshore organization as one engineering capability • Design, develop, and manage the platform engineering team • Determine which platforms continue or are retired and consolidate overlapping internal tools • Build shared tools, standards, controls, governance, capabilities, security models, and observability • Oversee production AI systems, including retrieval pipelines, model orchestration, evaluation harnesses, and data infrastructure • Enforce evaluation and monitoring for accuracy, hallucination, safety, drift, human review, and clinically meaningful quality metrics • Oversee model sourcing decisions across foundation models, hosted interfaces, open-weight models, and in-house models, considering cost, latency, privacy, and vendor risk • Evaluate throughput and quality changes from agentic workflows and support orchestration, context management, permissions, and observability platforms • Manage agent-augmented development capabilities including coding, test generation, code review, migration, refactoring, documentation, and incident triage • Ensure provenance, review gates, security scanning, intellectual property, and compliance controls in a healthcare environment • Enforce engineering accountability for correctness, safety, and security • Ensure products comply with HIPAA, protected health information handling, auditability, access controls, and clinical and payer requirements • Implement governance as system guardrails with policy as code, permissions, audit, and default observability • Partner with Revenue Cycle, Information Security, IT Architecture, and Application Operations • Represent Engineering to Clinical and Executive Leadership

🎯 Anforderungen

• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Engineering, Computer Science, or related discipline required • 10+ years in software engineering, including 5+ years leading engineering leaders, with responsibility for organization-level delivery and technical strategy required • Experience as a direct line manager of senior and staff-level engineers required • Experience building and growing a platform or internal developer capability based on evidence required • Experience consolidating overlapping internal tools required • Direct experience applying AI agentic harnesses/frameworks within the software development process required • Current ongoing expertise in modern AI engineering, including large language models, agentic systems, retrieval, evaluation, observability, and supporting data infrastructure required • Experience running a blended onshore and offshore organization, including a vendor relationship at scale required • Experience delivering software in a regulated or high-trust domain required • Working knowledge of HIPAA, protected health information handling, auditability, access controls, and applicable clinical and payer requirements • Hands-on technical depth in Engineering, Architecture, or Security • Technical leadership and architectural judgment at organizational scale • Ability to build and defend team size, team shape, and platform investment • Ability to manage vendors and offshore delivery • Strong leadership, conflict resolution, team building, analytical and critical thinking skills • Excellent written, oral, communication, presentation, and relationship management skills • Ability to influence senior leaders and executives • Demonstrated cross-functional team leadership and development • Bachelor’s degree or equivalent work experience is not stated; master’s degree and healthcare/domain experience are preferred, not required
