• Compliantly market BioCryst products to customers in the Cleveland, Ohio area • Use effective selling techniques and marketing strategies to create and expand demand for promoted brands • Develop and expand understanding of key customers • Create, maintain, and update an active customer database • Develop strategies to use marketing materials and programs effectively • Manage key accounts • Develop business plans with resource allocations linked to business results • Build and foster relationships with key decision makers and opinion leaders • Arrange and coordinate compliant promotional programs • Conduct field activities including lunch and learns, customer in-services, and other customer interactions • Complete expense reports and required administrative reports accurately and promptly • Report call information promptly • Attend training programs, conventions, and symposia as requested • Demonstrate accountability, urgency, and commitment to sales objectives • Collaborate with internal and external stakeholders • Use resources and share best practices to achieve or exceed business goals • Adhere to company compliance guidelines, policies, and procedures • Perform other duties as assigned
• Bachelor’s degree or equivalent required • Minimum of 5 years of pharmaceutical and/or biotech selling experience • Rare Disease and small company experience preferred • Must live in or near the greater Cleveland, Ohio area • Academic/teaching institution experience preferred • Start-up commercial experience a plus • Existing relationships with key accounts within assigned geography helpful • Strong track record of successfully exceeding sales goals, including national awards such as President’s Club • Demonstrated success selling in a territory where the candidate was the sole commercial salesperson • Proven ability to formulate and implement effective rare disease sales skills and results • Knowledge of relevant disease states and current treatments • Excellent written and oral communication skills • Strong business and analytical ability • Proven ability to create and innovate, build and expand business, and work independently and in teams • Ability to quickly assimilate complex information • Excellent negotiation skills • Knowledge of reimbursement • Knowledge of territory • Valid driver’s license and clean driving record • Ability to travel as necessary or required, including possible overnight and/or weekend travel
