Description

• Lead state advocacy and government engagement efforts across Kentucky and West Virginia • Develop, coordinate, and maintain corporate relationships with Louisville Metro Government • Support corporate engagement with local community organizations • Serve as a trusted partner to state officials, including Governor’s offices, Medicaid agencies, legislators, and regulators • Advance Humana’s legislative, regulatory, and public sector business priorities • Partner with internal leaders to align advocacy strategies with market growth and operational goals • Support Medicaid market operations and state and local procurement opportunities, including key contract pursuits • Monitor and influence policy developments to mitigate risk and create opportunity • Manage external consultants, state trade association memberships, and advocacy partners • Deliver timely policy insights to internal stakeholders • Represent Humana in state, regional, and national forums • Report to the AVP of State Affairs • Travel approximately 25% to Humana offices and the State Capitol for meetings, training, or other business needs

🎯 Exigences

• Must reside in Kentucky, with a strong preference for Louisville, Kentucky • 8+ years of professional experience in state government, government affairs, campaigns, health policy, and/or advocacy roles • Bachelor’s degree in a relevant field such as public policy, communications, health policy, political science, or business • Demonstrated success developing and executing state-level advocacy strategies • Track record of achieving short- and long-term policy or business objectives • Strong verbal and written communication skills • Ability to communicate complex information clearly and produce high-quality work under tight deadlines • Deep understanding of legislative and regulatory processes and the state political and public policy environment • Ability to operate effectively in a highly matrixed, fast-paced organization • Knowledge of Medicaid programs, preferably Kentucky Medicaid • Ability to travel 25% to the State Capitol and market office for meetings • Master’s degree in a related field preferred
