Description

• Create a clear vision and strategy for KinderCare’s Software Engineering capability, incorporating people, process, and technology • Lead development and delivery of high-quality software solutions across multiple platforms • Develop managers, software engineers, architects, and cross-functional technical leaders across distributed teams • Build organizational capability through workforce planning, succession planning, talent development, and leadership coaching • Improve team throughput and developer productivity through AI development tooling, modern engineering practices, and process improvement • Establish and govern architectural direction and technical roadmaps for software products • Balance contract workers and full-time employees to optimize delivery capacity, cost, and knowledge continuity • Collaborate with Product Management and stakeholders to align software products with business goals • Partner with Quality Engineering, Portfolio, and Infrastructure/Operations to ensure timely, secure, high-quality delivery • Set quarterly team objectives and key results aligned with business and technology priorities • Ensure software development and architecture processes are efficient, effective, and scalable • Evangelize KinderCare’s Discovery to Delivery framework • Communicate progress, risks, and opportunities to senior leadership and stakeholders • Participate in cross-functional technology leadership activities and strategic initiatives • Provide customer-focused responsiveness to problem-solving and incident management • Cultivate an MVP-delivery mindset across teams and individuals

🎯 Exigences

• Bachelor's degree in computer science, software engineering, or related field • Senior leadership experience managing leaders and teams of software engineers and architects, including contract workers and full-time employees • Experience managing vendor relationships for individual contract engineers and managed software engineering services • Strong technical background with understanding of software architecture, design patterns, and development methodologies • Experience delivering high-quality software products and optimizing software engineering delivery in an Agile modality across multiple platforms and product teams • Hands-on experience building software with modern AI development tools, including AI coding assistants and agentic development workflows • Track record of improving team throughput through AI tooling and process improvement • Experience delivering customer websites, applications, and services, including payment solutions and financial transactional systems such as billing and contracts
