Description

• Lead TD Bank’s engagement with state and local governments to advance business objectives and protect its interests and reputation • Monitor and analyze political, legislative, regulatory, and emerging government issues • Develop and execute advocacy strategies and tactics • Build relationships with public officials, agency representatives, industry partners, and internal stakeholders • Translate emerging policy issues into actionable guidance for leaders • Coordinate engagement to address risks and advance TD Bank policy priorities • Support the New England Market • Conduct government-related research and analysis for planning and decision-making • Prepare and deliver presentations, communications, correspondence, documents, and other materials • Coordinate communication efforts, schedules, activities, projects, and initiatives • Track milestones and performance management tools and provide executive progress reports • Manage sensitive projects with minimal guidance through resolution or completion • Communicate difficult concepts and influence alignment among senior stakeholders • Elevate TD Bank’s political and economic profile with state and local officials • Plan and participate in meetings and events with government officials • Coordinate with state trade associations to advance TD Bank policy objectives • Manage budgets, forecasts, billings, and spending variances • Conduct internal and external research and functional or enterprise-level analysis • Identify risks, resolve escalated issues, and maintain risk-management controls • Provide subject-matter guidance and mentorship • Participate in team development, knowledge transfer, and cross-training • Act as a brand ambassador for TD Bank

🎯 Exigences

• Undergraduate degree or relevant professional certifications, designations, or equivalent required • 7+ years relevant experience • Advanced knowledge of government relations disciplines and practices • Knowledge of relationship management, external business environment, government operating structures, supported lines of business, banking industry, and internal customers • Demonstrated working knowledge of governmental operations at State and Local levels • Ability to research and analyze issues related to governmental actions and proposals • Ability to communicate and work effectively with government officials at all levels • Ability to provide administrative support requiring specialized knowledge of governmental functions • Organizational awareness and resourcefulness • High degree of personal integrity when managing sensitive information • Superior verbal and written communication skills • Excellent judgment, relationship management, impact, and influence capabilities • Ability to work effectively with leaders at all levels
