📋 Description

• Assess databases for migration readiness and compatibility • Plan and execute complex database migrations • Identify and remediate compatibility issues • Validate data integrity after migration • Tune database performance in target environments • Troubleshoot database issues during migration and stabilization • Implement authenticated data access controls • Recommend database migration approaches to migration teams, working with the program's data architect • Provide specialized database and file share support for an enterprise cloud migration program • Support application migrations from on-premises data centers to Azure and AWS • Work as part of a shared pool of specialists assigned based on application complexity and migration needs • Resolve database challenges with migration teams and the program's data architect

🎯 Requirements

• US Citizen • Minimum five years of database administration or database engineering experience • Experience migrating databases such as SQL Server, Oracle, or PostgreSQL to Azure or AWS • Strong skills in performance tuning and troubleshooting • Experience validating data integrity • Ability to work on issues of diverse scope under limited guidance and independently determine the approach to assignments • Experience with Azure Government or AWS GovCloud environments • Azure or AWS database certifications • Experience with database migration tools such as Azure Database Migration Service or AWS Database Migration Service • Federal program delivery experience • Experience with replication and high availability • Experience with infrastructure as code (IaC) tools such as Terraform, Bicep, or CloudFormation • Experience using GitHub and GitHub Copilot for source control and AI-assisted development • Familiarity with AI technologies and their practical use in IT delivery or cloud environments
