📋 Description

• Act as the global technical authority for cloud infrastructure implementation design across AWS and Azure • Translate approved High Level Designs, reference architectures, and strategic technology requirements into implementation-ready Low Level Designs and technical specifications • Determine implementation approaches, design patterns, technical controls, infrastructure configurations, and operational requirements within architectural guardrails • Make technical decisions on standards, technology selection, design exceptions, and non-standard infrastructure requirements • Provide technical guidance during major incidents, complex platform changes, service recovery, and significant infrastructure initiatives • Review technical solutions for availability, resilience, disaster recovery, security, observability, supportability, and cost optimisation • Operate as the mandatory technical approval gate for cloud infrastructure changes before CAB • Approve or block technical changes based on compliance, risk, quality, supportability, security, and implementation readiness • Review technical designs, implementation plans, rollback strategies, verification activities, and supporting change evidence • Enforce cloud platform standards across networking, identity, security, segmentation, naming, tagging, observability, backup, disaster recovery, and operational controls • Govern technical exceptions and drive continuous improvement through reusable design patterns, standards enhancement, and automation • Assure internal and managed-service-provider implementations against approved designs, specifications, quality standards, and acceptance criteria • Participate in architecture reviews, governance forums, supplier performance reviews, operational reviews, and continuous improvement initiatives • Communicate technical risks, options, trade-offs, governance outcomes, and decision rationale to technical stakeholders and senior leadership • Maintain audit-ready technical artefacts, design records, implementation documentation, evidence packs, runbooks, governance records, and service documentation • Collaborate with Enterprise Architecture, Cloud Architecture, Cyber Security, engineering teams, country IT teams, and managed service providers

🎯 Requirements

• Bachelor’s Degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, Engineering, or equivalent • Master’s Degree in Information Systems, Cloud Computing, or Technology Management • 8+ years of cloud operations or engineering experience in a regulated change environment (ITIL or equivalent) • Substantial hands-on experience producing and reviewing HLDs and LLDs and providing technical design assurance into CAB/change control • Demonstrable experience defining and enforcing technical standards and reference architectures • Experience assuring designs against non-functional requirements across AWS and Azure • Experience assuring vendor- or managed-service-delivered changes through clear requirements, acceptance criteria, and evidence-based decisions • One or more of the following given strong consideration: AWS Certified Solutions Architect – Professional; Microsoft Azure Solutions Architect Expert (AZ-305); ITIL v4; TOGAF or equivalent; cloud security or Well-Architected credential; Infrastructure as Code review and controls familiarity • Deep expertise reviewing and approving HLDs and LLDs and assuring change quality, risk, rollback, and evidence within CAB/change control • Strong architecture knowledge across AWS and Azure networking, identity, compute, storage, monitoring, and backup/DR; GCP is a bonus • Knowledge of technical standards, reference architectures, landing zones, ITIL-aligned change control, CAB processes, risk assessment, acceptance criteria, cloud security, compliance, and audit readiness • Familiarity reviewing Terraform, Bicep/ARM, or CloudFormation, including policy-as-code and IaC scanning • Working knowledge of ISO 27001, SOC 2, NIST, and awareness of NIS2 and DORA • Ability to travel as required, including occasional visits to regional offices, data centres, and supplier sites
