📋 Description

• Own the month-end close across the Group • Run bookkeeping and month-end for operating subsidiaries in the UK, Aruba, Curaçao, Jamaica and Dominican Republic, plus multiple homeowner associations • Perform monthly bank and balance-sheet reconciliations in QuickBooks Online • Post and review recurring and non-recurring journals • Close and lock QuickBooks Online after each month end, controlling reopening with Finance Director sign-off • Review and verify remote bookkeepers' invoice coding, payment instructions, bank uploads and draft journals • Champion segregation of duties, approved-invoice controls and independent approval processes • Coach the team, identify recurring errors and improve processes • Manage outsourced local accountants for salary and tax calculations • Prepare annual accounts and statutory reporting for homeowner associations with local auditors and advisers • Maintain a compliance calendar across five tax regimes • Provide reliable numbers for management reporting, monthly finance reviews and budgeting • Support HOA budget preparation and respond to HOA board and owner finance queries • Handle ad hoc requests from banks, payment providers and insurers, including KYC and reporting packs • Help build an AI-enabled finance function through automation and documentation

🎯 Requirements

• Qualified or part-qualified accountant (ACCA, ACA, CIMA or European equivalent) • 5+ years in accounting, with at least 2 years at senior accountant, group accountant or assistant controller level • Hands-on experience running month-end close and balance-sheet reconciliations for a multi-entity, multi-currency group • Experience reviewing others' work and holding a team to a high standard • Strong working knowledge of QuickBooks Online or a similar cloud ledger (Xero, NetSuite, Sage Intacct) • Comfortable managing external accountants and advisers across several jurisdictions • Able to work UK business hours • Fluent written and spoken English • Organised, self-driven and calm under deadlines in a fully remote setting • Experience in hospitality, vacation rental, property management or HOA/service-charge accounting preferred • Exposure to Caribbean or offshore tax regimes preferred • Experience setting up accounting for new entities or new markets preferred • Working knowledge of Dutch or Spanish preferred • Familiarity with Dext, Hostaway or finance automation tools preferred
