📋 Description

• Define, align, and maintain the Group COO team strategy across UK Operations, EU Operations, and Controls • Lead the goal-setting process for the Group COO area and align sub-function objectives • Partner with Finance to build and embed a dependable monthly financial reporting and forecasting process • Lead the transition to a fully functioning global operating model with a global-by-design mindset • Balance global efficiency with local market operational requirements • Take accountability for high-impact short- and medium-term strategic projects across Monzo • Track progress against the Group COO strategy and communicate updates for CEO reporting, the PRA 90-Day Plan, and the GCOO Leadership Team • Build relationships with leadership across Customer Operations, EU Operations, Controls, Finance, Technology, and the wider Monzo team

🎯 Requirements

• Extensive experience operating at a senior strategic level, ideally within fintech or complex operational environments • Track record of shaping business strategy through structured problem-solving, data, and deep business insight • Proven ability to turn strategy into executable projects delivered on time and to quality • Ability to operate strategically while handling detailed execution • Experience working in highly matrixed environments with shared ownership • Ability to build alignment, resolve trade-offs, and hold cross-functional teams accountable without direct reporting lines • Knowledge of Operations, Finance, Technology, and Controls • Ability to translate complex operational or technical signals into clear executive narratives for technical and non-technical audiences • Experience establishing governance and communication strategies in unstructured environments • Financial discipline and analytical capability, including hands-on experience partnering with Finance to connect operational levers to commercial performance • Experience navigating complex global versus local operational structures and managing trade-offs across multiple markets • Superb communication skills, including distilling complex ideas and metrics into actionable insights through storytelling, board decks, and leadership updates
