📋 Description

• Join DAC Beachcroft’s Claims Solutions Group Data Breach Claims team • Advise insurers and corporate clients in the defence of claims of varying values, types and complexity • Investigate, defend and resolve compensation claims arising from data breaches and cyber-attacks • Conduct litigated and pre-litigation claims • Provide pre-emptive advice on relevant issues • Prepare defences through to Trial where necessary • Handle a varied and complex caseload, including individual data incidents, data subject access requests and multiple claims arising from cyber incidents • Attend conferences, trials and proof witnesses • Prepare and supervise disclosure of sensitive documentation • Draft Court documents • Attend Trials and Applications with Counsel • Manage complex and sensitive files • Achieve a minimum budgeted annual target of 1,440 chargeable hours • Develop paralegals within the team • Support marketing and business development activities • Maintain quality control, benchmark compliance and accurate management information • Maintain and develop technical knowledge through online learning, training sessions, seminars and relevant publications • Handle confidential information in accordance with firm data security protocols

🎯 Requirements

• Solicitor / Chartered Legal Executive • Suitable experience to assist with and run a caseload of civil claims • Previous experience dealing with data breach claims helpful but not essential • Willingness to learn and develop in the role and wider business • Ability to handle varied and complex claims • Ability to investigate data breach claims, including claims involving GDPR and Data Protection Acts • Ability to provide timely, astute, commercially aware and sensitively drafted client advice • Ability to attend conferences, trials and proof witnesses • Ability to prepare and supervise disclosure of sensitive documentation • Ability to draft Court documents • Ability to manage complex and sensitive files • Ability to handle confidential information in line with firm data security protocols
