📋 Description

• Drive strategic planning and business performance through effective analysis, modelling and advice • Report directly to the CEO and own the business planning and forecasting cycle • Establish KPIs to track progress against financial targets and provide strategic insights • Partner with senior leadership on growth planning and scenario modelling • Lead budgeting and forecasting, including cash flow management • Deliver and present financial information for Board reports, including risk assessments • Review and advise on commercial contracts and senior employee agreements • Recommend and manage bonus or incentive schemes • Manage stock options and equity schemes with legal counsel, accountants and HMRC • Optimise banking and treasury, including multi-currency accounts and FX risk mitigation • Oversee statutory accounts and tax filings with external accountants • Review month-end reports against budget and forecast • Manage and mentor the finance team and resolve complex accounting issues • Maintain financial policies and processes for approvals, purchasing and bank access • Manage the financial data room and investment decks for potential investors • Maintain and manage the company cap table

🎯 Requirements

• Certified accountancy qualification with 8+ years post qualified experience • Previous experience as a Finance Director • Direct experience within the SaaS industry • Strong, well-rounded commercial and business awareness • Ability to thrive in a fast-paced, scaling environment and manage a diverse range of tasks • Highly developed stakeholder management skills and confidence to operate as an equal partner at Board level • Big-picture thinking and creative problem-solving initiative • Agile mindset and genuine passion for the start-up industry • Experience working in a fast-growing EdTech company (strong candidates may also have) • Experience scaling a start-up through significant growth phases (strong candidates may also have)
