• Drive technical sales activities for selected Tier 2 service provider customers in the UK • Act as a trusted technical adviser and translate customer priorities into solution architectures • Lead technical sales engagement across routing, switching, security, automation, assurance and cloud operations • Own technical sales strategy and technical account plans for assigned customers • Discover and qualify customer requirements, operational challenges and desired outcomes • Design and propose HPE Networking solutions using the wider HPE portfolio and partner ecosystem • Lead executive and technical presentations, whiteboarding, architecture workshops, demonstrations, events, evaluations and proofs of concept • Build and maintain relationships with technical decision-makers, architects, operations teams, procurement stakeholders and partners • Lead technical responses to RFI, RFP and RFQ processes, including designs, bills of materials, risk identification and technical validation • Coordinate HPE specialists and internal resources to deliver customer outcomes • Capture customer requirements, market trends and competitive insight and provide feedback to product management • Maintain opportunity and activity information and support the account team through the sales cycle • Develop technical, industry and competitive knowledge and share expertise with colleagues and customers • Travel within the UK and occasionally internationally as required
• Typically 6+ years of relevant experience with service provider networks in technical pre-sales, Sales/Systems Engineering, consulting or network architecture • Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Engineering, Computer Science, Information Technology or related field, or equivalent practical experience • Expert-level understanding of IP routing technologies and protocols • Strong knowledge of MPLS and segment routing • Hands-on capability in service provider routing • Experience in adjacent areas such as data centre switching, network security, automation, network virtualisation, cloud networking, or observability and assurance • Experience designing resilient, scalable and operationally supportable network solutions • Knowledge of network automation and programmability using Python, Ansible, NETCONF, YANG, REST APIs, JSON and OpenConfig is desirable • Understanding of service provider security, DDoS protection, zero-trust principles or secure managed services is advantageous • Awareness of service provider market trends and emerging use cases • Ability to build and deliver demonstrations or proofs of concept • Strong written, verbal, presentation and whiteboarding skills • Self-motivated and collaborative, able to work independently and prioritise effectively • Relevant industry certifications are beneficial but not mandatory • Equivalent depth of experience is equally valued • Willingness to travel within the UK and occasionally internationally • UK-based; relocation is not available
