📋 Description

• Design and deliver complex, scalable systems, including multi-service integrations, high-traffic APIs, and data processing pipelines • Own large features or entire components from conception through production support • Lead technical discussions and influence architecture decisions • Establish architectural patterns, standards, and best practices • Ensure knowledge transfer and documentation for owned systems • Lead story refinement sessions with Product Owners for estimation and risk assessment • Partner with product, design, and QA teams to deliver comprehensive solutions • Influence technology choices based on technical understanding and business context • Facilitate Agile ceremonies and improve delivery predictability • Identify and resolve technical debt and system improvements • Champion TDD/BDD, automated testing, and shift-left testing practices • Lead security implementation and conduct security reviews • Establish development tooling and team practices • Lead troubleshooting for complex software issues and production incidents • Establish documentation standards and knowledge-transfer practices • Mentor junior and mid-level engineers • Establish code review standards and conduct complex feature reviews • Drive continuous improvement and responsible AI adoption with team governance practices

🎯 Requirements

• 5–7 years of professional software development experience • Strong proficiency with modern UI frameworks such as Angular, React, Vue.js, or Blazor, including performance optimisation and component architecture, or working knowledge with backend specialisation • Strong proficiency with .NET Core, C#, ASP.NET Core Web APIs, REST, application architectures, and distributed systems • Strong knowledge of SQL, NoSQL, and data architecture decisions • Experience integrating AI tools such as Cursor, Copilot, Devin, or Claude Code into engineering practices • Advanced implementation of DataDog, Application Insights, or Amazon CloudWatch, including performance tuning and cost optimisation • Infrastructure as Code experience with Terraform, Bicep, ARM Templates, or AWS CloudFormation/CDK • Experience designing comprehensive CI/CD architectures and deployment strategies • Strong proficiency in SaaS using Azure or AWS services, infrastructure design, and performance tuning • Strong containerisation experience with Docker or Kubernetes, including production-scale deployments • Expertise in clean architecture principles, SOLID design patterns, and domain-driven design • Experience driving TDD/BDD adoption and implementing comprehensive automated testing • Experience with highly scalable, internet-facing solutions • Experience profiling and benchmarking applications • Confidence in vulnerability management, threat modelling, and tracking • Knowledge of observability, production support, debugging, performance optimisation, and production troubleshooting • Proven ability to deliver complex, multi-system solutions • Demonstrated technical leadership through architecture decisions, mentoring, and cross-team collaboration • Track record of driving technical excellence, establishing standards, and influencing technology choices • Active mentoring experience with junior and mid-level engineers • Experience leading technical initiatives spanning multiple sprints or quarters • Strong analysis and problem-solving skills • Excellent verbal and written communication skills • Technical leadership and influencing skills without formal authority • Ability to coach others through mentoring and knowledge sharing • Collaborative approach across Engineering and QA teams • Conflict resolution skills for technical disagreements and cross-team coordination • Learning mindset and adaptability to industry trends • Advanced cloud certifications in Azure or AWS are desirable, not required
