📋 Description

• Deliver complex full-stack web applications serving millions of users • Help transform a legacy monolithic Applicant Tracking System into a modern, cloud-native Azure application • Design and deliver scalable systems, multi-service integrations, high-traffic APIs, and data processing pipelines • Own large features or entire components from conception through production support • Lead technical discussions and influence architecture decisions • Establish architectural patterns, standards, development tooling, and engineering best practices • Ensure documentation and knowledge transfer for owned systems • Lead story refinement sessions with Product Owners for estimation and risk assessment • Partner with product, design, and QA teams to deliver business solutions • Facilitate Agile ceremonies and improve delivery predictability • Identify and resolve technical debt and system improvements • Champion TDD/BDD, automated testing, shift-left testing, and security practices • Lead troubleshooting of complex software issues and production incidents • Mentor junior and mid-level engineers • Establish code review standards and review complex features • Drive continuous improvement and responsible AI adoption with team governance • Contribute to architectural decisions and high-quality delivery across containerised, scalable web products

🎯 Requirements

• 5–7 years of professional software development experience • Strong proficiency with ASP.NET MVC, or working knowledge with a backend specialisation focus • Strong proficiency with .NET Core, C#/VB.NET, ASP.NET Core Web APIs, REST, application architectures, and distributed systems • Strong knowledge of SQL, NoSQL, CosmosDB, and data architecture decisions • Experience integrating AI tools such as Cursor, Copilot, Devin, and Claude Code into engineering practices • Advanced implementation of DataDog, Application Insights, or Amazon CloudWatch, including performance tuning and cost optimisation • Infrastructure as Code experience with Terraform, Bicep, ARM Templates, or AWS CloudFormation/CDK • Experience designing comprehensive CI/CD architectures and deployment strategies • Strong proficiency in SaaS using Azure or AWS services, infrastructure design, and performance tuning • Strong Docker containerisation or Kubernetes experience with production-scale deployments • Expertise in clean architecture, SOLID design patterns, and domain-driven design • Experience driving TDD/BDD adoption and implementing comprehensive automated testing • Experience with highly scalable, internet-facing solutions serving millions of users • Experience profiling and benchmarking applications • Confident vulnerability management, threat modelling, and tracking • Knowledge of observability, production support, debugging complex issues, performance optimisation, and production troubleshooting • Proven ability to deliver complex, multi-system solutions • Demonstrated technical leadership through architecture decisions, technical mentoring, and cross-team collaboration • Experience leading technical initiatives spanning multiple sprints or quarters • Strong analysis and problem-solving skills • Excellent verbal and written communication skills • Technical leadership and influencing skills without formal authority • Ability to coach others through mentoring and knowledge sharing • Collaborative approach across Engineering and QA teams • Conflict resolution skills for technical disagreements and cross-team coordination • Learning mindset and ability to adapt to industry trends
