📋 Description

• Oversee activities across an automation engineering function or integrate multiple departments • Design, develop, modify, and integrate computer-controlled electronic and mechanical systems for industrial automation and manufacturing equipment • Develop and apply advanced electronic control systems • Oversee consumer product design and manufacturing and develop new electromechanical concepts for product lines • Assemble components, prepare test plans, and support product testing and validation • Select, develop, and evaluate personnel for efficient function operation • Lead teams through complex issues and develop new solutions • Define enterprise automation vision, operating model, and multi-year strategy • Govern architecture, cybersecurity, data integrity, and lifecycle standards across functions • Sponsor transformative programs and cross-department integrations • Allocate capital and resources using portfolio optimization and structured prioritization • Establish global benchmarks, audit readiness, and continuous improvement ecosystems • Shape external alliances, technology scouting, and innovation pipelines • Embed safety, compliance, and quality by design at scale • Develop senior leadership capability, succession strategies, and talent communities

🎯 Requirements

• Typically requires 12+ years of experience in a related field • 8–12 years of experience in a lead role • Typically a Master's degree / college-university degree is required • Ability to lead complex automation engineering issues and develop new solutions • Strategic leadership of complex automation ecosystems • Governance of portfolios, standards, and risk management frameworks • Executive- and external-level communication and influence • Financial stewardship and scenario planning for capital allocation • Advanced analytics, digital twins, and modeling • Driving innovation, inclusion, continuous improvement, transformation, and standardization across global operations
