📋 Description

• Conduct weekly testing of fire alarm systems, including control panels, smoke detectors, heat detectors, pull stations, and audible/visual notification devices • Document test results accurately in maintenance logs and report malfunctions or deficiencies immediately • Perform visual inspections to identify physical damage, obstructions, or signs of wear • Reset systems after testing and verify proper operation • Coordinate testing schedules to minimise disruption to building occupants and provide advance notice when required • Maintain testing equipment and ensure calibration is current • Respond to emergency calls for fire alarm malfunctions or failures outside scheduled testing times • Ensure compliance with NFPA 72 standards and local fire marshal requirements • Assist with annual and semi-annual comprehensive fire alarm inspections conducted by licensed technicians • Maintain accurate records of testing activities, repairs, and system modifications

🎯 Requirements

• Previous experience in fire alarm testing, building maintenance, or facilities operations preferred • Basic understanding of fire alarm system components and operation • Ability to read and interpret fire alarm system diagrams and technical manuals • Strong attention to detail and commitment to safety protocols • Excellent record-keeping and documentation skills • Ability to work independently with minimal supervision • Physical ability to climb ladders, access ceiling spaces, and walk extensively throughout facilities • Full UK driver's license and willingness to travel • May be required to undertake a DBS check
