📋 Description

• Own the architecture of the Business Spend segment with the Engineering Manager • Lead significant parts of the supplier data migration from a legacy service into a dedicated service per customer without downtime • Improve reliability and observability of invoice payment flows • Implement the vendor data model consistently across cards, invoices and accounting • Guide consistent technical decisions across three teams through design documents, code reviews and the architecture forum • Mentor and support colleagues through pairing, reviews and clear written documentation • Collaborate with accounting systems, card infrastructure, product, design, compliance and Accounts Payable teams • Deliver roadmap initiatives including supplier-management extraction, ISO 20022 structured-address compliance and supplier/vendor model redevelopment • Take ownership of a major migration workstream through production within the first six months • Build cross-team relationships and expand technical direction across Business Spend

🎯 Requirements

• Experience as the technical lead for a team spread across several countries and time zones • Deep backend engineering experience in a modern statically typed language such as Java, Kotlin or TypeScript, on production systems at scale • Track record of shipping inside a legacy system being taken apart, including executing migrations • Ability to change technical direction across teams without direct ownership • Ability to write actionable design documents, decision records and migration plans • Background in payments, fintech, accounts payable, ERP or B2B SaaS • Experience with event-driven systems and Kafka • Experience building observability into shipped systems • Extensive experience operating as a technical lead or owner of initiatives with cross-team or cross-domain impact in SaaS organisations of 500+ people • Significant experience architecting services across multiple domains and decoupling complex legacy systems • Strong verbal communication • Application must be submitted in English • Must be physically based in the chosen country with a valid right to work • Visa sponsorship is not available
