📋 Description

• Develop, maintain and support Java-based services and APIs powering business-critical B2B integration solutions • Design, build and operate high-scale, fault-tolerant, low-latency microservices in a cloud-native AWS environment • Work across the full software development lifecycle, from solution design and development through deployment, monitoring and ongoing support • Contribute to event-driven architectures and distributed systems • Collaborate with engineers, product teams and business stakeholders to translate requirements into technical solutions • Improve applications, services and engineering practices through continuous improvement and innovation • Build and maintain automated CI/CD pipelines and infrastructure-as-code deployments • Participate in agile ways of working and deliver iterative releases to production • Support monitoring, troubleshooting and performance optimisation

🎯 Requirements

• Minimum of 1 years’ experience in software engineering, or a relevant qualification covering core software development principles • Experience creating and maintaining Java-based applications or services • Understanding of HTTP-based services, APIs and microservice architectures • Experience with relational and/or non-relational databases • Knowledge of cloud computing platforms, ideally AWS • Experience with distributed systems and eventual consistency • Understanding of Continuous Integration and source control using Git-based platforms • Experience with at least one dynamic programming language such as JavaScript or PHP • Knowledge of unit testing, integration testing and security considerations • Willingness to contribute to frontend development using HTML, CSS and JavaScript when required • Ability to diagnose issues at code and platform level • Effective communication and collaboration with technical and non-technical stakeholders • Experience with AWS serverless technologies such as Lambda, API Gateway, SNS, SQS or DynamoDB is desirable • Knowledge of Docker and orchestration platforms is desirable • Experience with Terraform, GitLab CI/CD, Datadog or API management platforms is desirable • Understanding of DevOps practices and infrastructure automation is desirable
