📋 Description

• Design and maintain highly available, resilient and secure infrastructure across Samsara’s public cloud. • Own infrastructure provisioning using Infrastructure as Code (IaC) to establish reliable "paved paths" for seamless developer self-service. • Develop and maintain standardized, secure, and reliable base components like "golden images" (AMIs/container images) for fault-tolerant provisioning. • Drive system stability and service quality by embedding reliability best practices directly into development and deployment pipelines. • Ensure service availability by participating in a 24/7 on-call rotation, investigating outages, and contributing to root cause analysis/post-mortems. • Define SLIs/SLOs and build observability tooling to measure and improve service reliability. • Develop and maintain monitoring dashboards, metrics pipelines, and alerting configurations. • Own and lead the technical delivery of engineering projects, ensuring execution meets agreed-upon timelines. • Design and scope solutions, evaluate options and make trade-off decisions to provide accurate effort and complexity recommendations. • Champion, role model, and embed Samsara’s cultural principles (Focus on Customer Success, Build for the Long Term, Adopt a Growth Mindset, Be Inclusive, Win as a Team) as we scale globally and across new offices

🎯 Requirements

• 5+ years of experience as a DevOps Engineer, Security Engineer, Software Engineer or Site Reliability Engineer • 5+ years hands-on experience of Unix or Linux • 3+ years hands on experience of public cloud networking engineering • 3+ years of experience of Identity & Access Management • Strong ability to automate through scripting languages such as Python, Bash, Go, or similar • Experience with Infrastructure as Code (e.g. Terraform, Ansible, Puppet) • Experience in implementing and managing containerized applications using Docker and orchestration platforms like Kubernetes, with security considerations in mind. • Experience with AWS services such as EC2, EKS, ECS, ECR, IAM • Understanding of security weaknesses, exploits, attacks and mitigations.
