📋 Description

• Design, develop and maintain backend systems underpinning the eCommerce platform • Design and build robust, scalable backend systems and services • Develop and maintain APIs and backend architecture • Architect infrastructure for job processing, analytics and event tracking • Build internal tools for authentication, rate limiting and quota management • Work with data pipelines and background processing systems • Optimize system performance, security and scalability • Own the full engineering lifecycle, including code quality, testing, infrastructure and monitoring • Collaborate with product, design and customer experience teams to deliver new features • Identify opportunities to improve development processes, tooling and technical architecture

🎯 Requirements

• At least 4 years' experience building and maintaining production-grade backend systems • Strong programming skills and ability to write clean, maintainable and well-structured code • Experience designing databases, APIs and backend infrastructure • Understanding of high-throughput systems and background job queues • Strong sense of ownership of code, infrastructure, testing and monitoring • Confidence making sound technical decisions in a fast-moving, early-stage environment • Genuine interest in developer experience and building tools and systems for engineers • Experience with Python and TypeScript • Experience with AWS (ECS, SQS, Parameter Store) • Experience with Docker • Experience with PostgreSQL and Redis • Experience with GitHub Actions • Experience with LogFire and Sentry • Desirable: rate limiting, authentication systems, quota management, analytics, attribution engineering, event tracking, dbt, Snowflake, WYSIWYG editors, PDF generation/rendering, image manipulation, Next.js or Remix
