📋 Description

• Carry out planned, preventative and reactive mechanical maintenance across Veolia sites • Install, maintain, repair and replace pumps, valves, pipework and associated mechanical equipment • Diagnose faults, identify root causes and complete effective repairs on mechanical plant and pumping systems • Respond to breakdowns and emergency callouts, making equipment safe and restoring operation as quickly as possible • Complete pipework installations, modifications, repairs and leak rectification works, including inspection and commissioning of completed work • Maintain accurate records, complete PPM schedules and report on outstanding work, recurring faults and improvement opportunities • Participate in a rostered out-of-hours and emergency call-out arrangement

🎯 Requirements

• A recognised mechanical engineering qualification, such as NVQ Level 3, City & Guilds, apprenticeship or equivalent • HNC/HND in Mechanical Engineering or a related discipline is desirable • Practical experience installing, maintaining and repairing pumps, pipework, valves and mechanical plants • Strong mechanical fault-finding and problem-solving skills, with experience diagnosing breakdowns and identifying effective repair solutions • Experience of planned and reactive maintenance in an industrial, utilities, water, waste, process or facilities environment • Experience responding to emergency breakdowns and participating in an out-of-hours call-out rota • Good understanding of safe systems of work • A full UK driving licence • Willingness to travel across London • Strong communication skills • Electrical, instrumentation, PLC, SCADA or ECI experience would be advantageous
