📋 Description

• Own systems governing organizer signup assessment, payout holds, payout release speed, and account deterioration decisions • Assess organizers at signup and throughout the account lifecycle • Design reserves that reflect actual supplier obligations for trips • Consolidate exposure, disputes, balances, payout history, and verification state • Lead projects end-to-end from discovery and solution design through build, rollout, and monitoring • Collaborate with Product, Payment Operations, and KYC/Verification teams • Shape risk decisions, measurements, and automation of manual processes • Balance loss protection with legitimate organizer user experience • Own reliability of delivered systems • Participate in and improve the engineering team’s standards, culture, and practices

🎯 Requirements

• 7+ years of product engineering expertise • 4+ years dedicated to risk, fraud, or underwriting systems that move real money • Deep expertise in exposure and credit models, decision and rules engines, holds, reserves and payout limits, transaction monitoring, and ledgers • Strong backend mastery in Ruby on Rails, Kotlin, Python, Go, Java, or Node.js, with ability to ramp up on Ruby quickly • Direct production on-call experience, including authoring post-mortems and leading incident response • Excellent written and verbal communication skills • Cross-functional collaboration experience • Ability to thrive in a distributed, multicultural environment • Pragmatic adoption of AI tools, including ability to mentor and train others on AI concepts • Experience at a merchant of record, payment facilitator, marketplace, or lender is preferred • Experience automating a previously manual underwriting or periodic review program is preferred
